Alliance Rangitikei Bob Peck
Bob Peck is a current councillor on the Ruapehu District, Council which includes part of the Rangitikei electorate; a member of the W ai mari no Community Board; a licensed clergyman,
Diocese of Wellington and chairperson of the Waimarino Rest Home Trust. Bob was mayor of Raetihi; a member of the Wanganui United Council; managing editor of Church and People, the Anglican newspaper; assistant editor of the Public Service Journal; 1972 candidate for Egmont parliamentary seat, New Zealand Labour Party; vicar of Ruapehu parish and past president of the Raetihi/Ohakune Rotary Club. Bob is a member of the Alliance because he strongly believes in policies which will:
• Cut unemployment by increasing public and private sector jobs; provide protection for vital industries; stimulate the building industry; improve our social services and environmental protection. • Increase political and administration accountability, especially a return to elected power and health boards. • Give us a fair electoral system, he therefore supports MMP. • Return to us a fully tax-funded public health
system open and free to all. • Bring back universal superannuation with no surtax, just as it was p.rior to political manipulation by Labour and National. • Re-introduce our free education system funded by a progressive tax scheme that does not penalise those on low incomes. • Support a nuclearfree and independent New Zealand. • Stop the sale of state assets.
