Jim Bolger National
Jim Bolger has been the Member of Parjiament for King Country for 21 years, the past three of which he has been Prime Minister. During his term as PM Jim Bolger pursued an outward-looking foreign policy to strengthen the relationships New Zealand has with other countries. Jim Bolger and National' s commitment: "The creation of new jobs is the number one issue facing the nation. The National Government understands that to create real, sustainable jobs we need a healthy thriving economy." "Already our growth has helped us turn the corner. The number of NZ workers registered as unemployed has been falling for 18 months and is now below 10%. In the
last year alone 17,000 jobs have been created. Our commitment is to keep the economy growing and the new jobs flowing." "In the past too much of the $4 billion spent each year on health and disability services has been wasted. The new management structures put in place by our Government ensure that every dollar spent goes towards providing the best services possible. Our commitment is to improve the quality of public health servces to everyone." "Under the National Government there are now 603 more Early Childhood Educational Institutions and almost 80,000 more full-time tertiary students. Our commitment is to encourage excellence and increased access to education."
