Blood please

Waiouru residents are being called upon this week to donate blood when the Manawatu Regional Blood Services' mobilecollection team comes to town. The team was disappointed with the number of donors for the last two colleetions. The service visits Waiouru in April and October each year. In April this year only 70 donors were recorded and the previous October had an all time low of only 38 donors. The Regional Blood Services are therefore urging first-time donors to come along on Wednesday and Thursday of this week to the Hospital Ward of the Waiouru Army Camp. In return for their donation people will receive a small health check including a haemoglobin (iron) count taken.
