year-old. • Due to the response we had from the community with information relating to the burglary of the Irirangi Sports and Social Club, we have arrested a 33-year-old local man for receiving a quantity of the stolen alcohol. This is just the tip of the iceberg and further arrests are likely. We believe that we have now identified the offenders, but more information from you all should ensure that we put these

people away. As I said before, locals stealing from locals is just disgusting and we don't want these type of people living and committing these type of crimes in our community. • A house in Ngauruhoe Street, just by the RSA, was burgled twice last week. The first burglary was committed last Wednesday when the occupant had gone next door for a short time during the day. The offenders removed an ex-

pensive leather jacket. A large quantity of household goods, as well as women's clothing and a stereo system were stolen early Sunday morning. It is possible that the occupants disturbed the offenders as they left some property that was stacked up by the front door ready to be removed. A lot of people were around Saturday night/Sunday morning and may have seen something or know something about this. • Also stolen over the

weekend were four turbo mag tyres taken from a car parked in the Waiouru Motors yard. • Two people were taken to hospital last week after a two-car collision outside the BP service station on the main road. Injuries were minor and the injured were treated and discharged. One driver faces charges as a result of the crash. • A few days later another crash occurred in the same place when a Turn to page 12
