Bridge

Bridge on Wednesday 1 September was a very small affair with only three pairs competing in each direction. However a total of 21 boards were played. Lauretta Eades and Pauline Le Noel won the north-south competition with 55.55% and in second place with 55.07% were Sarah Hamlin and

Heather Cranston. The east-west competition was won by John and Sandra Eades who scored 54.47% and a score of 47.97% was enough to secure second place for Les Burns and Jim Cranston. "Hopefully the'drop in numbers is due to the school holidays and at-

tendance will pick up in the next week or two", said a spokesman for the club, "or it may shortly be a question of solitaire anyone? All existing members are urged to make an effort to attend regular club nights, and all bridge players visiting the area are welcome to attend".
