• As always, I was pleased to get a copy of your splendid publication (24 August). The usual bouquet of items of interest to all the community were there in abundance and, as they say, "all good stuff'l But waiti What is this item on page three ... news of great importance to every single person in the district! A new weather station! Congratulations to the Ruapehu College for a true piece of enterprise and effort! At last, we now know why these winter months have 'dragged' a bit. With absolutely no publicity the 'week* is, (so you indicatel), now eight days long! Is this the age of a three-day weekend? What a boost for all businesses! Please hasten to amend your excellent 'Holiday Map' and the new 'Shopping in Ohakune' feature so that locals and visitors can enjoy this extra spending time! Thank you for the great job you do.
