Geometry Week at the Waiouru Primary School took on a creative shape last week with children in classes ranging from Standard 2 to Form 2 taking part in 'hands on' exercises in the interests of learning maths. To learn more about geometry the children were asked to make various two- and three-di-mensional shapes, like cubes and Chinese tangrams. They also had to make a free-standing construction out of various shapes they had been given. The children were split up in to group which mingled all age levels and gave the children a chance to learn from others both older and younger. The result, of course, was a school in symmetry.
