Ranfurly land ideas needed
The old holding paddock at 1 Ranfurly Terrace in Raetihi should be tendered for grazing at the same time as the council approach the Crown for a purchase price cf the land. That was the recommendation from the Waimarino Community Board at their last meeting, when asked to consider the matter. Farmers and stock firms no longer used the land as a holding paddock, said member John Compton. He said the fences were in a poor state which led to problems for neighbours when it was grazed. He suggested tendering it for grazing with a condition of the tender that the fences be repaired, and that suggestions for its use be called for from the community. Mr Compton said it was an important piece of land as it was at the approach to the town.
