Ski radio on air
Ski FM went on air on Saturday morning coinciding with the start of mid term break, Boardcasting on 96.6FM Turoa and 94.4FM Whakapapa. Station Manager Mark Thomson said we're really happy to be back! In the past it's been hard to figure out how many people actually listen, but through a survey conducted last year by Whakapapa ski area, it showed an incredible 62% of the 350,000 people who ski Mt Ruapehu annually tune to Ski FM for their ski information. How could we not be
here? That equates to quite possibly one of the biggest radio audiences in the country, and I can't think of any other place I'd rather be. The station has a whole new crew of people with new studios at 29 Clyde St Ohakune. Ski reports will come across every quarter of an hour during the breakfast show and half an hour from 10am. We've got alot of promotions planned, mountains of sweets and chocolate to give away and one of New Zealands favourite winter destinations, Mr Thomson said.
