Rash of burglaries hit Waimarino

Waimarino Police were kept busy last week, with a rash of burglaries around the area. • A Hukaroa Road, Raetihi, residence was burgled last Friday evening. Offenders entered through an unlocked door and took a number of items includ-

ing a stereo, video recorder, tool box, petrol, and compact discs. • Offenders attempted to burgle a flat in Clyde Street, Ohakune, on Thursday night. A window was broken to gain entry but those repsonsible made off emptyhanded when an alarm was activated. • The same thing occurred with a residence in Miro Park shortly after. Offenders broke a window but were scared off when the alarm sounded. • A white 1990 Holden Commodore, registration JU124, stolen from an Ohakune Road address early Friday morning, was recovered by Ohakune Police abandened on the Matahiwi Track, on the Parapara Highway. Police say the offender drove the car to the site and set it alight. • A vehicle was driven through a fence of a Goldfinch Street, Ohakune, property on Friday. The driver of the Datsun 180B inspected the damage before driving off.

• Ohakune Police would like to talk to anyone in the vicinity of Ohakune's Jubilee Park public toilets on Friday evening, after a man indecently exposed himself to a patron. An Auckland woman on transit through Ohakune, was approached by a man naked from the waist down. The man was described as a male caucasian of solid build, of around 6ft in height. The offender ran off into the bush. • Ohakune Photo Pharmacy was broken

into in a smash and grab on Sunday morning. Offenders smashed a display window then ran to the rear of the building and took a large quantity of Panadeine and Pirophen tablets. Police say around 2000 Panadeine and 600 Pirophen tablets were stolen. • Overnight Saturday, the Tangiwai Sub Station was entered and a Suzuki 4WD was stolen. Offenders cut the perimeter fence and jemmied open two metal doors before removing the vehi-

fered with sometime on the weekend. A padlock was jemmied off but offenders were unable to break open the door. Police would like to talk to anyone who may have information on the attempted break-in. • A red Honda 4WD was stolen from an Ohura Road, Raetihi, property sometime over the weekend. Police are interested in hearing from anyone who may have more information.
