Raetihi backs too classy for Waiouru
BY
OSSIE
The Raetihi senior women' s side won their fourth consecutive game, beating big improvers Waiouru 32-nil on Sunday. The strength and pace of the mid-field backs of Sherry Hansen and Rene Hiroti proved too much for Waiouru. Half-backs Michelle Kui and Raema Mowat worked well together considering the dismal wet conditions. However, in the forwards Waiouru, really took it to Raetihi and won more than their fair share of the ball. Unfortunately the backs were just outclassed by the two Wanganui repre-senta-tives, Hansen and Hiroti. Hiroti scored another hat trick of tries to take her tally to six for the season. Number eight, Janice Martini scored her seventh try for the season and is now the leading try scorer, with Hansen and Hiroti on six tries and new player Roberta Williams on two tries. To impress from Raetihi were, in the forwards- lock Gail Mareikura and flanker Fiona Brown who both covered a lot of ground and in the backs were Raema Mowat, Sherry Hansen and Rene Hiroti. Full-back Mere Bishop had some strong runs when given the ball. For Waiouru were forwards Teresa Svensen, Sas Schouting and Lisa Bidois, and in the backs were mid-fielder Sally Gread with some aweI some tackling. Winger ' Sue Reir saved two cer-
Porky Hiroti. Strong leadership ppuld see the Wild Boars achieve higher targets. It is obvious that talent pxists in this team and tP see it develop to its full potential would be beneficial for the Wild Boars as a team, the players as individuals and the community it represents. Thanks goes to the Raetihi Rugby Club for Ihe use of the shower fapilities.
