Raetihi women in rep rugby team

Raetihi are well represented in the northern sides and will play Wanganui Metropolitan teams at Marton on 27 June. Raetihi women's sepior have nine players in the A squad and six jnore named for the B squad. From these games the Wanganui side to play Taranaki in July will be selected. After hosting a sucpessful tournament, despite the weather, Raetihi supporters and players were overwhelmed with the two teams selected, espefially with 15 Raetihi players making selection.

The only real surprises were Raema Mowat whose good consistent form has pushed out Melissa Brown from first-five-eight and utility player Aroha Williams being moved into the front row as hooker. Although the youngster has had four games at hooker, the selectors are confident that she can do the job. The late inclusion of Tinga Martenga will help strengthen the Northern back-line.
