Prevention better for sports injuries

BY Shellly of RIC Ceasar Esterman from Repaire Pacific Auckland and Geoff Ross from Abbott Laboratories, Palmerston North, were at the Raetihi Rugby Clubrooms on Tuesday 4 May to talk about the prevention and treatment of sports injuries. The evening was organised by Lynette Price of Price's Pharmacy.

"I decided to run the evening because I feel there are a lot of injuries for sports people," Lynette said. "I also felt it would be valuable for people in the area involved with sports injuries. They also heard Mr Ross speak about sports nutrition products. Mrs Price said all aspects of sports injuries were well covered and

she has had a lot of good feed back so is hoping to do a follow up in July. " The biggest problem with injuries is that people are not treating them properly so the injuries take longer to heal. A lot of people don't rest therefore it takes a lot longer before they can play their sport without the injury re-occurring".
