Pony Club wind-up
Sunday, 2 May was the break-up of the Raetihi Pony Club for the 1992/1993 season. Because of the cold weather it was decided to have it unmounted at the Country Classic Lodge. A fancy dress was held with most of the younger members participating. There were some really original and imaginative costumes. Mrs Anne Roke did the judging for the fancy dress which was very difficult as all the costumes were good. A decision was finally made with the following
certificates given: 1st Virginia Morris dressed as a witch, 2nd Shelly Edgarton dressed as Little Bo-peep and 3rd Kirk Lilburn dressed as Zorro. After the prize giving the Club Trophies were presented: Dobson Cup for senior attendance - Cushla Edgarton/Marni McGregor, Vet Club Cup for intermediate attendance - Nicola Smith; McLean Cup for junior attendance - Kirk Lilburn; Senior most improved - Cushla Edgarton; Intermediate most improved - Natasha Nicholls; Junior most improved - Mark Hyland;
Waipuna Ridge Trophy which is presented to the most conscientious and helpful member - Amanda Garland; Sir William Trophy which is awarded to a parent who has contributed a lot to the Pony Club during the season - John Smith. Certificates gained during the season were: D Certificate - Rebecca Clarke; C Certificate - Marni McGregor, Cushla Edgarton and Sarah Cornwall. An afternoon tea was held after the presentations. The Pony Club would like to thank Anne Roke for attending, Mr Alan Bowater for attending and donating prizes for the prize-giving and Mrs Barbara Fredricksen for the use of the Lodge. An enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
