A two-hour long school concert was organised and put on by the students of Raetihi Primary School on Wednesday 5 May at 7.30pm in the school hall as a fund-raising venture so that the children can go to the Dinosaur Show in Wellington in June. The bi-lingual unit led the concert and performed various poi, haka
and action songs for about 20 minutes. The next group did a novel version of the 'Three Little Pigs' cailed 'William's Version'. The play was introduced as having 'very talented actresses'. The third performance was a dancing and singing group 'Raetihi Rappers' who entertained the audience with their dances to three songs. It was said by the person
introducing them "they are in great demand, we are lucky to have them". The next item was introduced as being "by special request we have been able to stage one evening of the 'Miss Junior World Contest' here in Raetihi". Eight girls participated from various countries. A young boy, Master Nicholls " plays the piano very well" so he performed two songs, Td
Like to Teach the World to Sing' and 'Love Me Tender'. The next play 'Director' had the wholehouse laughing. It was supposed to give you the chance to find out how hard it is to follow the directions of a director. The girls from Room 9 performed two plays, the first being 'Is it Time* and the second 'The Queens' Magic Paper' . Jurn to page 5

From page 3 To fill in time whilst the Raetihi School Culture Club was getting ready for their performance a young boy named Richard told the audience three jokes. It was said that the talent of the Raetihi School Culture Club is known far and wide. Their performance was about fifteen minutes in length. The last group to per-
form were local adults who have just recently formed the Raetihi Senior Maori Culture Group. Their performance last night was their first public appearance. For the final song the bi-lingual unit and the Raetihi School Culture Club joined the Raetihi Senior Maori Culture Group on stage and they sang together. The children performed to a full house.
