Bridge

Bridge on Wednesday night consisted of a teams event with two teams of eight players competing against each other. Half of one team sat north-south at two tables and the other half sat east-west at two tables and the event was played over four sessions Team Z won the first session 46 points to 31 taking an early lead and gradually increasing this lead over the next two sessions to go into the fourth session with a lead of 49 points. Team A made a valiant effort in the fourth session to peg back the deficit but had left their run too late and finished 36 points behind with the final score being 129 to 93. Congratulations to team Z which consisted of Ron Frew, Brian Eades, Rita Kaiwhare, Betty Hammond, Lauretta Eades, Pauline Le Noel, Glenda Whale and Jenny Mottram.
