Waimarino & Ohakune squash
The Waimarino Squash Club's inter-business competition kicked off last Wednesday and Thursday nights with 22 teams playing. Results from round one were: Division One - Rebels 2, 6 v Ohakune Energy Centre, 4; Hillbillies 10 v Young and the Useless 0; Butts and Tops 7 v Mac's Gang 3; Shockers v Rebels 1, still to play. Division Two - Class of '93' 6 v The Dags 4; Trustbank Terminators 2 v Under-Dogs 8; Karioi Killers 4 v Peanuts 6; Mowtown 2 v Cafe Captives 8. Division Three - Begal
Boys 6 v Head Hogs 4; No-Bodies 8 v Moro 2; Outsiders 6 v Waimarino Drags 4. Round two starts on Wednesday at 6pm and Thursday at 5pm. Ladies mornings are under-way and have been changed to Tuesday mornings from 9.30am to noon as from next week. Come on ladies do something for yourself - come along. Just bring your nonmarking shoes (children if any) and give it a go. Junior Club Niqhf Friday saw the first night of Ohakune Squash Club's Junior Squash. There was a very good turn-out of players,
mainly secondary school pupils. The club hopes more primary school children also will attend in future. Results were: Boys - lst Darren Triggell 12 points, 2nd Andrew Murdie 9 points, 3rd Andre Moore 6 points. Girls - lst Kelly Swain 12 points, 2nd Kaye Murdie 9 points, 3rd Natasha Richards. All juniors wishing to play on Thursday night 8 April please put your names on the list on the notice board by 5pm Wednesday. Draw and times will be on the notice board by 8.30am Thursday.
