Raetihi bounces back

BY SHELLYOFRIC Raetihi seniors had a very successful game of rugby on Saturday 3 April against Wanganui Boys College and Old Boys at Spriggens Park. Raetihi was down 1410 at half-time and with ten minutes left of the game, down 20-15, Raetihi fought back and won 22-20. The first try for Raetihi was scored by

Darren McDonnell kicked a penalty, the ball hit the bar and bounced back to hit Warrick's knee, Warrick picked up the ball and scored the try and then left the field with torn shoulder ligaments. Paul Trow and John Heron were the other two scorers for Raetihi. Darren McDonnell kicked one penalty and

two conversions. Wanganui Boys College and Old Boys try scorer was John Caskey. Mark Elliott kicked five penalties. The game on Saturday was the first game of the round but it was Raetihi's second win this year as they won their only preseason game in Levin on Saturday 20 March against the Wanderers 10-7.
