Anderson,
WHWC Despite dismal weather a good turn-out of people attended Waimarino Health Watch Committee's 'Spot Check Day' on Saturday 27 March at Ruapehu College. One hundred and twenty-six people were seen by one of the doc-
tors and/or skin specialist present on the day. Dr Perera (Ohakune), Dr Russell (Waiouru), Dr Cacala (Whangarei) and skin specialist Mr Adams (Wellington) were in attendance from 9am to 3pm to examine freckles, spots and moles. They gave their time freely which added to the community-based nature
of the day and for which the committee was very grateful. Light refreshments were kindly supplied by local members of the cancer society and a delicious lunch was provided by Plunket. A special thanks was made to Ruapehu College principal Harry Cast and caretaker Phillip Sutton for their help in ensuring the day ran smoothly. Finally the Health Watch Committee would like to thank all those people who helped to make 'Spot Check Day' a success not least of all those people who were able to tear themselves away from the cricket and go along to have their spots checked.
