IF^t Whakapapa THE MAGIC MOUNTA1N Whakapapa Ski Area HAS THE FOLLOWING SPECIALISED POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR THE 1993 WINTER SEASON Personnel Supervisor Whakapapa Ski Area has a permanent staff of 25 and an additional 300 persons are employed for the winter season. This involves an extreme interview and selection process. All new staff complete training and induction in their first week of employment. The bulk of seasonal staff commence work during June and early July with the balance working a short season from midAugust. The Personnel Supervisor co-ordinates and assists the various department managers with this employment and induction process. Experience and qualifications in similar Human Resource activities would be an advantage. The successful applicant will be required to commence work immediately and employment will continue until mid-November 1993. CAFETERIA MANAGERS AND SUPERVISORS Whakapapa Ski Area operates six food service outlets. These vary in size from a 50 seat food kiosk to a new 350 seat cafeteria. All outlets sell a wide range of food and beverage with three being licensed to sell alcohol. The larger outlets include food preparation facilities. During the 1 992/93 summer the company has spent in excess of $3 million on the construction of three new facilities. We are very keen to employ persons experienced in food service operation to ensure these investments are operated efficiently and with a very high level of customer service. Upper Mountain Service Manager The successful applicant will be responsible for the efficient daily management of three outlets in the Upper Mountain area including the new Knoll Ridge chalet facility. Extensive experience and knowledge of preparation and presentation of food and staff management is essential. Relevant qualifications and certificates would be an advantage. The position is seasonal offering full time employment from 1 May 1 993 through to the end of November 1 993. Cafeteria Supervisors A number of positions are available supervising smaller outlets throughout the ski area. Experience with preparation and presentation of food and supervision of staff is necessary. Relevant qualifications and certificates would be an advantage. These positions offer employment from late May/early June until late October 1 993. CRECHE SUPERVISOR AND ASS1STANT SUPERVISOR The Creche was purpose-built two years ago. It caters for up to 30 children aged 2-6 years old. Applicants should have the relevant Early Childhood Qualifications or an equivalent one that has been recognised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. These positions are seasonal offering employment from mid-May until early November 1993. SKI MECHANIC Applicants must have previous experience and expertise in the field of ski tuning and repairing of ski equipment.
