Waimarino women bowlers proved a formidable force at this year's New Zealand Master's Games held in Wanganui, taking Gold and Silver in the medal stakes. Fifty teams took part in the event, the main contingency coming from the Wanganui district. With great distinction both Waimarino teams blitzed all competition at the "Friendly Games", to play off against one

another for First and Second placings. The winners of the Gold medals were Vi Brown (skip), Bernice Cochrane (2), Robin Scarrow (3) and Ngaire Burrows (lead). Silver medallists were Audrey Nation (skip), Rita Kaiwhare (2), June Foster (3) and Betty Hammond (lead).
