POLICE FILE

• Taihape and Waiouru police combined resources on Thursday to execute a number of search warrants in the Ohakune-Raetihi area relating to drug offending in the area. As a result, a quantity of drugs was located at various addresses searched, as well as drug-related paraphernalia. The warrants were executed in conjunction with aerial operations carried out in the Waimarino area at the same time, and as a result, police have a number of follow-up enquiries to action. Ohakune police assisted on Wednesday with similar operations in Taihape. • A 15-year-old male took his mother's car from Waiouru on Friday and drove to Ohakune. He rolled the vehicle near Ohutu Grazing on State Highway 49 and totalled it. He was taken back to Waiouru by police and put through the drink-driving test, which he failed. He may face charges relating to drink-driving and careless use of a motor vehicle. • A spate of vandalism occurred in Arawa Street on Sunday night following several social functions. Youths damaged letterboxes and parked vehicles.
