Lights out at Pipiriki

Street lighting at Pipiriki should be reviewed as and when development takes place in the village, the Waimarino Community Board decided at their December meeting. The board earlier recommended that one extra street light be provided, following a request from the Department of Conservation for five. "The development at Pipiriki has come to a stop as I believe they have run out of finance and it is certainly unlikely that the work (on the new restaurant, accommodation and shop) will be completed this season," said board member Winston Oliver. "We can always review the situation when the development takes place."
