Rotary exchange

by David ofthe RIC Raetihi Rotary Club is currently organising a twin exchange with an Australian club, for the first two terms of 1993. Student David Hammond of Raetihi/Ohakune Road is now raising the funds required for this trip. The Rotary exchange committee head, D Latimer of Pipiriki School, explained to this reporter the twin exchange system. "A student from New Zealand is put up by a family in Australia for a full school term. Then, the New Zealand family host a member of that family in New Zealand who returns with their child." David will be staying with the Van der Veets of Baledon, a suburb of the town of Coffs Harbour, which is a city about midway between Sydney and Brisbane on the east coast of Australia. David expects the Australian school to be very different to his usual

education, as it is a Catholic school and "It's going to be a lot hotter weather!" Apart from school work, he is also

required to speak at Rotary Club functions in Australia and will be presenting banners from New Zealand clubs.
