Raetihi pre-school
by Davidofthe RIC From the end of 1992 the Raetihi Pre-school will no longer operate under the Raetihi School 'umbrella system' of funding. This is because the Ministry of Education has dis-attached the Preschool from the School, making it an independent unit. The new Raetihi and District Pre-school Unit will, under the guidance of a management committee helped by parents, whanau and caregivers of the community, be
responsible for the opening and running of the unit as from the 1 January 1993. The pre-school will be open to correspond with the school year and will be offering eight sessions a week for various ages for a small fee. The supervisor for the 1993 year is Judy Munn, assisted by Kelly Frederick. "Our name might have changed but our policies and philosophies remain the same," said a spokeswoman for the unit. An open morning for interested parents and caregivers will be held on 1 December from 10am ti 11 noon.
