Ohakune police are continuing their enquiriefr following Friday night's burglary of the Jean City clothing shop on Clyde Street. Police Sergeant Bob Evans said the thieves entered through the side of the building and stole

a large quantity of jeans and T-shirts. • A pair of Volkl skis stolen from outside the Alpine cafe at Turoa on Sunday turned up as hire returns at the Powderhom ski shop yesterday moming. A woman came out of the cafe and put the Volkl

"It was a totally innocent mistake," Mr Evans said • Police are continuing their enquiries after a Honda car stolen from a house on Oruakukuru Road on Thursday was found crashed in the Manawatu Gorge on Saturday night. • Two people were apprehended in Wanganui after allegedly stealing a Falcon utility from a motel in Ohakune on Thursday night and joy riding it down the Parapara Road. The owner of the vehicle and the owner of the Hobbit chased the ute around Ohakune and Raetihi before it headed down the Parapara Road Wanganui police then became involved and chased the vehicle back up the River Road.

"The offenders drove the ute over a slip covering the Parapara Road and the only thing that stopped them was a big slip on the River Road near Wanganui," Mr Evans said. A 21-year old Ohakune man and a 21year old Wanganui woman are facing a number of charges relating to the incident in the Wanganui District Court today. • A search conducted on a rural Ohakune address on Friday resulted in a 36-year old man being charged for allowing his premises to be used for cultivating cannabis. • Car stereos were the target of thieves who broke into vehicles parked on Mangawhero Terrace and outside the Youth Hostel on Clyde Street, Ohakune, on Saturday night.
