• Last Thursday and Friday a number of vehicles parked about Raetihi had their petrol syphoned out. • Police are looking for a distinctive maroon and white Ford Fairmont car stolen from a Shannon Street, Ohakune address early Friday morning. Thieves used a piece of plastic strapping to break into the car which was parked in the owner's driveway. A maroon Mitsubishi Galant car was stolen on Sunday night from outside Pipers Kings Court while the owners were inside having dinner. Police would like to hear from anyone who has any information about either of these thefts. • A man suffered serious injuries after the car he was driving left the road and collided heavily with a bank. The accident happened about 8.30 Sunday morning on Tohunga Road. The 21 year old man was the sole occupant of the car and police are continuing their enquiries as they believe alcohol may have been the cause of the accident.
