Three men were lucky to escape injury after the utility they were travelling in crashed through a concrete fence and onto a neighbour's porch on Sunday morning. The ute was travelling along Mangawhero Terrace towards Ohakune township shortly before

6 am when it left the road, crashed through a fence continued some distance, across Martin Place, before crashing on to a porch of another house. Mr Wilson said it appcared the driver of the ute had been racing another car. Both the fire brigade

and ambulance attended the accident. "It was incredible that the occupants only received minor injuries," he said. Police are continuing their enquiries as it appeared that drinking and driving were responsible for the accident.
