Energy future known soon

Customers of King Country Energy will find out what the future holds for their power company before the end of the month. The draft establishment plan was considered at the September King Country Energy board meeting and will be put before the interim trustees on 24 September. General manager Peter Till said it is intended to advertise the draft plan for public comments on 29 September, which will signal the start of the public consultation period. Once the draft plan was out for public comment he would be pleased to speak to any group, or individuals, about its content. . Public submissions on the draft plan will be accepted until 12 November

with formal meetings to hear verbal submissions in Taumarunui on 20 November, Turangi on 25 November and Ohakune on 26 November respectively. Special board and trustee meetings will be convened if required to revise the draft establishment plan to take account of the public submissions. Badminton B Grade teams from Ohakune and Waiouru travelled to Wanganui on Sunday 20 September, to play their last two rounds for interclub. They played Wanganui Two and Three. Both Ohakune and Waiouru won with convincing wins, which has put both teams into the finals which will be played in Wanganui in October.
