Ohakune pullers topple Tongariro tuggers

Whakapapa Tavern's open tug-of-war competition last week was won by Ruapehu Health & Fitness Centre's team last week. The team, Charles Mareikura, Siggy Bauer, Caleb Dempsey, Gavin Johnson, anchor man Matt "Manager" Karauria, and caller/coach Polly Billington beat eight contending teams to take the trophy. Tongariro Tuggers took the number two spot. The centre entered three teams - one in the open, one in the women's, and one in the mixed grade.
