Recruits march

By JanSavell Ninety two^-Regular Force recruits began their military careers when Basic 282 class marched in to Waiouru on Sunday 31 August. After medical examinations there were 88 soldiers who signed their atte^ation on 1 September. Clothing and equipment issue was the next task and three platoons passed through the Central

Quartermasters Stores and Direct Support Section. Most recruits have joined the Army directly from school with 18 being the average age. Platoons are chosen alphabetically with the fourteen female recruits being kept together in one mixed platoon. Service corps dominate and this reflects the Army's present recruitment needs.
