Help for gifted children
A group of invited parents met at Raetihi School to hear about a programme for gifted and talented children earlier this month. Parents heard about the theories behind the programme and about future plans for starting it here. Funding for the pilot Waimarino project comes from REAP. The Ministry of Education has no part in the programme, nor does it provide funding assistance. A working committee of volunteer parents was formed to help co-ordi-nating teacher Allison Thomas.
