Netball

Saturday's netball was played in wet weather with some close games. Every year the association is faced with players complaining about umpires. This year has been really bad with umpires being unduly abused by players. The Association Executive is not going to condone this sort of behaviour. What teams should realise or have a long hard think about, is do they want to play netball as part of our Association with the umpires we have or not. Everytime an incident occurs it is quite noticeable that it is the players that don't have the courage to sit a simple exam or use a whistle that constantly offend. Next year it will be compulsory for all teams to have so many players sit the

umpires exam. Arrangements are made for a place to hold the exam every year but the response is appalling. This year out of 1 65 players four players sat their exam. Closing day is on 29 August, entries must be in by 22 August.
