Whakapapa skifield is the final location for four American snowboarders making a feature film about international extreme snowboarding. But if the weather fails to improve they will be forced to try Treble Cone skifield in the South Island. Co-director Beat Steiner said the terrain at
Whakapapa was excellent for extreme snowboarding because of its many cliffs The board riders, Shawn Farmer, Matt Goodwill, Jim Hale, and Nick Parata, specialise in cliff jumping The film, Fear Of A Flat Planet, is due for Canadian release in September and may be released on video in N.Z. before next ski season.
