Clean Ohakune Water (very soon)

Ohakune's water is now being treated, but don't stop boiling your drinking water yet. "It will take some time 'to flush the mains with the clean water," said district engineer Peter Jackson. Testing of the supply will continue for some time, checking to see when fecal coliforms disappear from the water, which will then indicate the water is safe for drinking without boiling. An official opening will be held for the plant at the Ohakune Club and at the site this Saturday.
