Wrong impression
• My letter in the Chronicle of the 9 July had the wrong heading on it, which was 'Drug
abuse, cause of crimes' not 'Waimarino crimes'. My letter was towards the escalation of crimes in Ohakune and Raetihi only, as being a resident of the past 40-odd years, I have seen the incentives of the elders of my Maori people crumbling to the think box and drug abuse. Drugs have been mans' salvation according to Chinese history as they had opium dens only to the select. Drugs mixed with alcohol may cause a person to lose his sanity as a lot of murders and massacres are a result of a man losing his sanity and there is a fine line between sanity and insanity with the lack of will-power! May God in his wisdom give us all the will-power to hold on to our sanity. Only 72
