College soccer

Ruapehu College first 11 played a Wanganui Collegiate junior eleven on Saturday. Having already beaten them twice in the league they were confident of a comfortable win. From the outset however play was predominantly in the Ruapehu half, with Ruapehu unable to hold possession. Collegiate were rewarded with two goals before half time. In the second half Ruapehu had several chances but couldn't finish things off. An early goal for Collegiate saw them go up before Ru-

apehu finally found the net when Stacey Cranston put home a cross from Aeneas O'Sullivan. Despite an amount of rallying of the team by captain Geoff Pitts the final score remained 3-1. Lindsay Cast had a pleasing game in defence. This Saturday Ruapehu will be playing their first home game. Kickoff time 12.30 at the College.
