Last chance for train trip

Tomorrow will be the last chance for intending passengers on this Saturday's train excursion to Taumarunui and back to reserve and pay for their seats. Tickets for the Ruapehu Bulletin Flyer are available from Ohakune TV and Electrical in Clyde Street until 5pm tomorrow. "Seats are filling fast so make sure you don't miss out on this 5-hour scenic trip with photostops at such historic sites as the Hapuawhenua Viaduct, the Last Spike at Pokaka and on the Raurinu Spiral," said MTRO president Bob Norling. The diesel-hauled train with seven heated carriages will leave Ohakune Junction at 10.45am next Saturday and will spend an hour in Taumarunui (at about noon) before returning to Ohakune at 3.30pm.
