Employment service rights

• I wnte with regard to comments made recently by "Concerned Citizen". There are several points that should be raised in reply. All persons seeking work whether unemployed or not, as New Zealander's have a right to use New Zealand Employment Service and they will receive fair and equal assistance. Anyone who feels they need help to better compete in the Job Marketplace eg with

letters of application or CV preparation, may call in to the local New Zealand Employment Service. Registered Unemployed Persons generally get far more assistance as they keep in touch more often. Employers who use New Zealand Employment Service do so because they receive professional service as well as fair and unbiased assistance with their recruiting. Should a person who is already employed be fortunate enough to gain a job then there will be a flow-on effect, ie when they leave their job an unemployed person is most likely to fill it. Ultimately there are still the same number of jobs available in the community to those who wish to apply. We at New Zealand Employment are continually striving to improve our Service to the community and would be more than happy to make ourselves available to discuss employment problems and opportunities.
