Shorts hill slip work delay

Fiftcen months have passed sincc flood damage occurrcd on Shorts Hill, near Raetihi, and the nearby land owners are tired of waiting for works on the road. The Waimarino Community Board heard, via letter to chairman Colin Webb, that there was erosion occurring at the trouble spots, making the road dangcrous and creating a threat to the stability of the hill. The board agreed that the district engincer, board mcmbcr Winston Olivcr and land owners should meet at the sitc to discuss ihe problcm. They also agreed that concern should be cxpressed to council staff at the delay in dealing with the problcm.
