Pizza munching after school funds drive
Many Ohakunites and a few Raetihitians will have enjoyed munching on pizzas these past few days, or stocked their freezers thanks to a pizza drive run jointly by Ohakune Primary School and Kindergarten.
Together they made nearly $500 to be spent on audio-visual equipment. Joy and Daniel Friar, aged 9 and 11, sold 22 pizzas between them raising $77 each win-
ning 18cm rocky road bars for the most pizzas sold. "Most people ordered the ham supreme," Daniel said. This popular pizza featured a light crisp base topped with generous amounts of ham, cheese, onion and capsicum in a fresh pizza sauce. "We like the vegetarian one," said Joy. This alternative also proved delicious, with a wholemeal and honey base spread with all sorts of vegetarian delights and topped with cheese. Some recipients were disappointed to learn they couldn't order further supplies. "At $3.50 each, they were a real bargain," said one.
