Waimarino netball
Once again the weather held for Saturdays competition, with some interesting scores. Every season the umpires have to contend with constant abuse and insults about their rulings; said an organiser despite the efforts from the netball union to help improve our standard of umpiring. On Sunday an umpire from Wanganui took an umpires class. Out of 21 teams playing Saturday netball, 20 people turned up which represented 5 teams from the union. None of the people that constantly
hassle umpires on Saturdays turned up. "Obviously they want to play by their rules. It is easy to stand and criticise, but it is different with the whistle," said an organiser.
