Land sale OK

A decision was made at last month's Ruapehu District Council meeting to proceed with the sale of property located at 5 Arawa Street, Ohakune (next to the Lions Den), as originally recommended. Following that original recommendation there was a meeting of the Waimarino Community Board at which it was said there were "heaps of potential buyers." However, after public advertisements for 'Sale

by Tender' had appeared in three local newspapers and had brought forth no response, Cr Bill Peach' reported to Council that he would recommend the sale proceed as origi-* nally planned because none of these potential buyers "had come out of the woodwork." Accordingly Council resolved that the General Manager be authorised to accept a reasonable offer for the sale of this property and to enter into negotiations with Mr Pardoe in order to conclude a satisfactory sale.
