Abatement fees
The following administration fees have been set by the Ruapehu District Council when it considered it's Annual Plan last month. • Requests for a change to the Ruapehu District Plan: $500. • Service of an abatement notice: $200. An abatement notice would only follow a po-
lite request for a person to: 1 Cease an activity which contravenes the Resource Management Act, any regulations of the District Plan or which has an adverse effect upon the environment. 2 Take action in order to comply with the Act, the District Plan or to
remedy any existing or likely (adverse) effects on the environment. 3 Reduce any unreasonable noise. Anyone found offending against these provisions of the Act should be reminded that, if they don't comply with a polite request, they will be served with an abatement notice which will cost them $200.
