The 72-hole tournament turned out a re- * sounding success thanks to the patronage of players from a wide range of clubs, and reasonably good weather. Clubs represented included Hokawhitu, Hamilton, Levin, Belmont, Tawhero, Palmerston North, Taihape and Waiouru. Results: Open Championship winner: P. Dench Hokawhitu; Runner-up, R. Sisson, Taihape. Flight winner: D. Windle, Waimarino. Makaranui Division: lst M. Matson; runnerup T. Fredericks Jnr. Flight winner: L. Coombe. Group A winner: G. Allerby; runner-up, N. Bell. Flight winner: P. Goldfinch. Group B: lst G. Brighouse; runner-up, G. Park. Flight winner: A. Condon. Group C: lst D. Blackburn; runner-up, C. Allerby. Flight winner: T. Fredericks Snr. Group D: lst J. Karatau; runner-up, C. Pepene. Flight winner: C. Heinold. Group E: lst P. Rountree; runner-up D. Wehipeihana. Flight: B. Cranston. Group F: lst J. Mcllroy; runner-up P. Ennis. Flight: B. Wehipeihana. Group G: lst L. Parr; runner-up A. Murdie. Flight: G. Pepere. the four ball best ball was won by M. Steele and J. Murphy. In the ladies' division P. Mowatt took the Gross Prize with J. Martin runner up. Nett Winner: K. Tapp; runner-up S. Blackburn. Stableford: E. Rush, J. Taylor, M. Kennedy, N. Cranston, B. Berridge.
