A special ambulance service is now available for use at sports events in the Waimarino. Event Medical Service, owned by Sean Maynard, is a new private ambulance company based in Auckland. They will travel to areas, including the
Waimarino, to cover sporting events. The company which owns three ambulances have so far covered events such as the Around The Bays Race in Auckland, the Mountain to Sea race and the D B Ironman. The staff are trained to intermediate care level.
