Barrier wanted

The barrier on the narrow section of the Ohakune Mountain Road, below Massey Flat, should be reinstated. Waimarino board member Bruce Thompson asked that the barrier be put back up following sealing work on the road. He said while there

were other stretches of narrow road above that section without barriers, "by then people realise they are on the side of the mountain." He said at the lower section people did not realise they were next to a major drop. Council general manager Cliff Houston said the matter would be looked at.
