On Thursday 16 April a team including about 20 college students attended the annual Hui Aranga which was held at Otemotai College in Tauranga. The team has an excellent reputation, having won the Junior Cultural Events (poi, haka action song) last year. Rugby After trials a 1st XV Rugby squad has been selected and consists of: Forwards: C. McDonough, K. Arahanga, K. Ratima, J. Schrier, E. Rewi, J. O'Hanlon, C. Waara, T. Parata, R. Grossart. Backs: C Winter, M. Mareikura, S. McDonough, T. Thompson, A Bosher, D„ Apaapa, W. Sutton. Soccer The first XI soccer team was selected on Wednesday 15 April. The following students have made the team: Main squad: G Pitts, L Cast, G Marriot, B. Cornwall, N Swain, C. Tumataroa, J Gordon, N Davies, M Billmore, A Sharma, A. O'Sullivan, A Murdie, N Sharma, M. Fetzer, S. Cranston.

Reserve squad L Chan, L. Baranauskas, H Ward, S. Pitts, M. James. Hockey The college has five students playing in the Ruapehu Rangers Club Hockey Team. They are: N. Cast, K. Hough, S Sue, J. Maru R. Battersby. With the finishing of summer sports the college held the semi- , finals and finals of the tennis championships. Mens doubles D Waara, R Langdon vs H Cast, L Cast. Winners: H Cast and L Cast. Womens doubles: N Cast vs L McCann. Winner L McCann. Mens singles: A Bowsher vs R Langdon Winner: R Langdon. Upcoming events On Sunday 31 May Communicado will be filming a game show in the Ruapehu College hall. On Thursday 23 April, the finals of the Speech Contest (Seniors) will be held in the College Hall, starting at 7.30 pm. The Junior finals will be held on Tuesday 28 April at 7.30pm in the College Hall.
