Three staff now at Weir Tce

BY

howie

For the first time in two years, Waiouru's Weir Terrace Kindergarten has three fully qualified teachers. They are the head teacher Sue Kumeroa, Cindy Hammond and Lynne McLennan. Sue Kumeroa said Weir Terrace Kindergarten has been allocated a third teacher because it has been designated as being a special needs area. "It's because of the location, climatic con-

ditions and the style of army life and other factors that make Waiouru a unique place to live in," Sue said. The new teacher is Lynne McLennan, a first year teacher who recently completed her three year Teaching Diploma in Palmerston North. Lynne said she was thrilled to get a job and loves Waiouru. She said she has been made to feel very welcome by the kindergarten staff, parents, neighbours and friends. She has four adult children and looks forward to her career as a Kindergarten teacher. During her spare time she instructs at the Waiouru Riding Club, is a member of the woodwork class and is aiming to finish a degree in the next few years. She said she has always lived in a small rural community, so feels at home residing in Waiouru.
