What's a good trick to play on a trickster? How about get her to organise her own surprise party? That's what happened to Ohakune Primary School teacher Marie Milne recently. She and some cohorts decided to spring a surprise after-school hip replacement partyfor their boss, Ellen Gould. Little did Marie know that a twist was added and it was tumed into a baby shower just for her. Being a bit vague at times these days, due to her condition, Gossip's been told it was only after about the 10th baby present that she cottoned on to the fact that she'd been 'surprised'. More on the baby- on- the- way bit - Mrs Milne decided to wash all the nappies in readiness for the new arrival, but decided she didn't want all the neighbours to notice (why? who knows?) so she hung the nappies on the centre wires of the line, and hung long shirts and towels and stuff around the outside to hide them. Oh - one more thing! Manual teacher Jack McLean won the nappy changing races at the party!
